Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana
Branded generic medicines are sold at higher prices despite identical therapeutic value to unbranded ones. To make affordable, quality generic medicines accessible, the Pharma Advisory Forum launched the Jan Aushadhi Campaign on April 23, 2008. This involves opening Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJK) in all 630 districts, expanding to sub-divisional levels, major towns, and villages. This initiative aims to improve healthcare by ensuring affordable medicine for all.
Earnings from Opening a PMBJP Kendra
Opening a PMBJP Kendra can be profitable, even though profit margins on generic medicines are lower. The key lies in bulk sales, which can lead to significant profits. The exact income from a Jan Aushadhi Kendra varies based on monthly sales.
For example, if your monthly sales reach Rs.1 Lakh, you can expect a profit of Rs.20,000 (20% of sales). Additionally, you might receive an incentive of Rs.15,000 for monthly sales, bringing your total monthly income to Rs.30,000.
As sales of generic drugs and other pharmacy products increase, your revenue potential grows, allowing you to earn a better living. The Government of India supports this initiative, promoting the production and sale of generic drugs to ensure wider accessibility and affordability.
